| Register the proposed APO with the Department via the State-based Restrictive Intervention Data System (RIDS). | |
| Victorian Senior Practitioner reviews proposed APO appointment (download the Department’s APO Approval Process Word doc for more information). | |
Approve or refuse the appointed APO, including reviewing minimum qualifications and training. VCAT reviews any disputed decisions within 28 days. | |
| If approved, engage the APO. They may now start work. | |
Person with disability | If the need for behaviour support is identified, engage a Behaviour Support Practitioner. |
